Dear Artiste, wake up
We been sleeping on ourselves for too long
Dear Artiste, wake up
The Art beckons on you.
It has called out
Heed to the call
Believe in the art
Believe in your heart
Believe in yourself
Believe you'll sell
Because at the end all you have is
Yourself and the art
Live the art
Nurture the art
Culture the art
Till it becomes your culture
Culture the art till it becomes you
Because in fact, you are the art
Write for you are the
Wisdom that people seek continually
Speak for you are the
Intellect people wish to feed off
Sing for you are the
Comfort souls yearn to listen to
Most importantly, feed your mind
For you are "only" the knowledge that you give out
Dear Artiste, wake up
The Art beckons on you
Your art calls out to you
Waiting time is over
Cos time waits for no man
No farmer or plough stops for the dying man
You yourself are the motivation you need
Prayer is good,  it's our way of life
But you need "more devotion "
Dear Artiste, wake up
Eliminate those limitations
Break those barriers
Dear Artiste, wake up
Do not stifle your dreams
I consider it nightmare to let
Those dreams remain in your dream
As you wake up to first light
Arise with them, bring them to light
You need more devotion
Put in time, put in work
The pressure is much but
Pressure makes diamonds.
Dear Artiste, work.
Work;
Till your name draws attention
Till your name paints a picture in the minds of strangers
