ASSURANCE: I Signed Maxi And JFly As Nobody | Ethrice Ekpen Tenders Transaction Details

Source: Facebook

As the termination letter issued to Super Star Maxi and JFly has not seized to spike some controversies in the city of Port Harcourt, most record labels in the city, both small and big have directly or indirectly sent several messages to the management of Rhemacity Blog to stop the publishing of 'E-One Records Termination Letter Saga'. Meanwhile, the CEO of E-One Records, Ethrice Ekpen have yawned for the truth to be made explicit to the world. This yawning of his have propelled him to give a brief detail about the transaction between the management and the artists who were once under the reputable label brand before their contracts were terminated.

In a globalized world as we find ourselves, particularly in this twenty-first century, it could vividly be attested that insincerity have become the order of the day. Nevertheless, the need for the truth is of no relevance to an average Nigerian today. This myth have masterminded the compilation of this post who some may tag "controversial". It has also become a daily routine to find that such occurrences are frequent in the day-to-day running of any organized body, particularly in the society we live in. Moreover, the ability to withstand this challenge amidst all odds is what might seem as if "all is well" whereas "all might not be."

Being in possession of a vast knowledge about the music industry, Ethrice Ekpen, the CEO, E-One Records, has thought with so much regret, to have signed the worse arts ever to his record label. The arts who are undoubtedly good at what they do, according to Ethrice Ekpen in his termination letter to them, have been found exhibiting certain traits capable of tarnishing the image of the brand whose strength today, have taken enough time, effort and resources to developed overtime.

Prior to this post, you would recall that the initial cause of the termination of contract were clearly stipulated. This time, this post wouldn't be of any relevance to the public if there are no affirmative claims or debunks to whatever was said by the parties involved.

Few minutes after the Publication of our prior post, Ethrice Ekpen threw a thought provoking question which was followed by some sentences. In his words, he puts it this way,

"Did you ask him to show you the contract I have with him that states I'll give them a house? Where was maxi before I signed him? What song can you point to apart from chocomilo 2008 or was it Eone Records that promised him heaven and earth too? All the receipts of money spent on them are still open for publication. I spent twenty-five thousand naira and harmattan is everywhere come on... Anyway since Eone Records was their problem, they have opportunity now to blow which the world is waiting to see."

Obviously, this cannot be the end of the story as the E-One Boss is grieved and wants the world to see the innocence in his brand. Maxi earlier noted that it was only twenty-five thousand naira that was given to him for Harmattan Promo. Now! With the way he sounded, it almost looked as if Ethrice Ekpen has joined a bad gang whose mindset is to frustrate young talents by not revealing and believing in the art they represent. Apparently, this case is for you my most valued reader to decide who's actually telling the truth or not.

In a bid to be explicit, Ethrice Ekpen decided to make public every transaction he made just to ensure the artists success. He has this to say; "Lap dance video alone cost me six hundred thousand naira. I'm not talking of the amount it cost me to put it on plannet TV, hiptv, and the rest. His video shoot "lap dance", quote me! I gave him fifty thousand naira to buy cloths that he ended up with bare chest on the video."

(Ethrice shared a screen shot of the part payment  he made to ensure the success of Maxi's Lap dance video. To view, Click here)

It's kind of getting more interesting. You should know him by now, Ethrice would not keep quiet but went further to express his grievance in the following words;

"You will know the truth in no time. Most artistes wants the future they see in those A-list that have paid their price. I'm a business man based in London with several degrees in music. The house and car they want is what will come when their work start selling. Moreover, no label in the world gives any artiste that is not bringing money in comfort. Xbusta of five star music for two years only got how many song and still squatting with his brother in Lagos without a car, what of the twins Marvin signed what of davido artiste? Every artiste is entitled to their own manager and that comes at some point in one's career. Jfly and maxi, I signed them on as nobody, in few months I have done what I have to put their names on limelight. Now what they don't know is we all got responsibility to keep that name going. Eone is almost done restructuring and coming out bigger so I also wish they coming out stronger. Because, that is the only way they can avoid this coming up again."

As the African proverb has it, "there is no smoke without fire", Ethrice have thought it best to unravel the words in the warning letter sent to the artists in question. And it could only be considered just by a mind filled with a sense of decency.

The letter reads thus;

Subject: Attention to details
I want to thank both of you for the good job in composing wonderful songs which we are currently promoting under Eone Records.

Eone Records is an entertainment outfit that was set up out of the burning passion to help artistes achieve their dreams and also to give them a good platform to stand on worldwide stage. We are different because we work as a family and not as a master and servant relationship.
It's but a fact that this has been abused by Superstar maxi and jfly for the quest to get quick success in an entertainment industry that is driving by a steady slow pace in its wide coverage.

No song no matter how good it is and popular the artiste is, can come up at ones and no matter the money and fame no radio stations can play one artiste song every second. For your information the people you listen to their song daily that you don't even know or have their contacts are many but that doesn't mean because you don't call them to let them know their song has just been played that it's not played. Any artiste that rely on the same fans base he has had over the years has set a limitation for himself before he even started. That your friends are not calling you guys and that djs are calling you guys, tells you guys something that the promo is gaining weight. Because if it's not they won't have been calling you guys asking for money.

Superstar Maxi you joined us in..... (withheld) And before you were signed to EOne We are very glad to say that the name and stardom you are enjoying now wasn't as high as you are enjoying now. Your videos are there online to prove your popularity and your music downloads are also there to serve as prove compare to what you are getting now under us (Eone Records). You said the only thing you don't have is money and so on that note we are sorry as we are not the cause of you not having money. Why didn't you come out to ask for a loan from us so you can work and do things all by yourself to achieve quick results?
In Eone Records we believe in building a brand that will not be known by the same people but by fans all over the world that will appreciate you for the good work they are hearing.
Jfly before you join Eone I would want you to please point a great work you have done and the massive promo you have done for such work. From accepting you to be part of our family (Eone Records) a whole lot has changed in your life but if you think this is how others got to stardom, I will advise you re trace your steps and go study the fall and rise of artistes all over the world.
I have forgiven you both but would want to set this straight, Superstar Maxi and Jfly I advise you both go back to your terms of contract and understand very well what is expected of you as Eone Records Artiste and what the label owes you both.
Eone Records is here to stay and when the dreams came to me 9years ago God didn't show me you both, he only showed me artistes and told me what he will do through me in their lives why saying this; Eone Records is bigger than artiste as we are aware that artiste(s) are only here for transit, but let me shock you guys
♢ We are not in the business to feed on artistes work
♢ We got series of businesses that we will be floating to make sure steady flow of income comes to us
♢ We are an entertainment warehouse, meaning in no time you will see things that will be unvieling under the umbrella.
In summary, Eone Records Shall from henceforth not  take any indiscipline and unruly behaviour from any of its artistes and shall also not discuss anything about EOne records with you except matters relating to your works.
So on this note I am announcing to you guys the appointment of Eone Records Manager Engr. Leonard (A4) and Eone Records PR Stretch.

Any issues relating to your work from henceforth shall be directed to the manager and the PR. I shall on this note still be overseeing the day to day running of Eone Records.

Thanks
Ethrice
CEO

What else could be Ethrice Ekpen's evidence that would be more greater that the receipts of the transaction made to ensure the success of the arts signed to his label? This is a challenge to Maxi and JFly to come out and tell their part of the story (Ethrice Ekpen's claims).
