What Your Lecturer Never Told You About Dr. BARZ (@dr_barz) | A Brief Bio Review By Tammy Tams

Undoubtedly known for his incessant punchline delivery, Victor Akpomon popularly known as Dr Barz (@dr_barz) was born in Benin city, in the early 90's to a family of 4, and hails from Idunwele Ewu, Esan Central LGA in Edo state, Nigeria. Barz who has his origin from the one of the most daring states in the country when it comes to diabolical acts, developed a passion for hip-hop music at a tender age having being influenced by the hip-hop loving community of Port Harcourt where he was raised in.

The youngster who has performed on various stages in the country, professionally kicked off his career in 2016 after a series of radio freestyles, rap battle, and a Bobby Rak hosted, Beatboxx Xclusiv, Dandizzy and Sammy Hart featured banger titled "The Underground". The acclaimed "Rugged Port Harcourt Rapper" has collaborated on different tracks with Ajebo Hustlers, TenTik, Th3 Ghost, Dandizzy, Timi Kei, Vokulz (alias Double K), Avid (alias Lyrikal), LXE, amongst others. His plans to move his career to the next level is yet to be known. However, it is strongly believed that he has placed his compass well on his drawing board and we hope to see him perform of bigger stages across the world.

A graduate of Microbiology from Madonna University Elele campus, Rivers State, Barz is to be looked out for as he seem to have his root from a wealthy background and will do anything to push his career to the next level. In his quest for global recognition, you would recall that he has consistently been on his grind just to ensure he gets there at last. Although not in his mind, it is deduced that he has his eyes and heart fixed on one of the categories of the Grammy Awards.

This promising act however made it explicit to Rhemacity Blog that the year 2017 was a very busy year for him as he's been featured in a host of top events and competitions. Notable are his groundbreaking performances at the 10th edition of Daytime Thriller, The Underground Show, La Vida, Chowfair, Bogobiri House, Plugged, GLO Mega Music Tour etc. Barz has shared the stage with top acts like 2face, Phyno, Timaya, Duncan Mighty, Dice Ailes, Ice Prince, Yung6ix etc. He recently became a finalist at the Hennessy Artistry Competition in Lagos, and is also a final contender at the Linda Ikeji Rap battle in Lagos. Hmmmn.. Obviously he looks big! Don't you think he deserves some accolades?

His first official single "PH City" released in August, 2017 has gained massive reception by Port Harcourt residents and radio stations. It was shortly followed by "Devil Dances Shoki", "Cookie" a product of an online challenge, the controversial M.I Abaga reply titled "Error" Fixed, a Falz' inspired rendition of "This Is Pitakwa", Ajigijaga, Taxes and host of numerous online freestyle videos amassing a huge number of views worldwide.

His brand is no doubt one of the promising brands from the city of Port Harcourt. Watch Out!!!
