Peeps Don't Wait For Government To Put Up Shows - Renowned Blogger, Ukalas
One of Port Harcourt's finest bloggers, The CEO of UkalasBlog, Mr Ukalas Uzoma Kalagbor, has directly adviced Port Harcourt people not to expect the government to organise an event for them saying we are capable of organizing events ourselves. In his words, he puts it this way, "peeps don't wait for the state Government to put up shows anymore to be paid kobo. Individually, my PH people dey finish work". In a literal sense, that could mean the government of the day, is not too concerned with entertainment and as such waiting for them to put smiles on the faces of people could be "time wasting". He strongly advised that shows should be put up without the government's assistance.
Some persons made some comments on the post, Benny Odumu said "That doesn't mean that the government should relax and not take up engagements and empowerment of their people o"
While another commented on the government rising to collect tax from the organizers.
But I think the art should be established first before we think of tax for the government. The government has it all. It's a strong brand. But the entertainment scene in Port Harcourt is far from it. It's time to take up the challenge.
